Yacht Delivery & Marine Services
Yacht Delivery from £100 a day (plus expenses)
This is our delivery process. We aim to take a personal approach when dealing with you and your vessel.
  1. Once contact has been made and the general details (boat, location, destination, dates) have been established, the delivery will be assigned to one of our experienced Skippers.
  2. You will then be able to deal directly with the Skipper delivering your vessel. We believe this is an important part of the process to gain your confidence and demonstrate our skills and knowledge base. This helps largely with our personal approach.
  3. An initial no-obligation estimate will be given taking into account the size and type of vessel, the estimated delivery time, and additional expenses such as travel costs, provisions and fuel.
  4. We will need to know a full itinerary of the safety equipment onboard (liferaft, flares, EPIRB, etc.). Depending on the delivery, it may be necessary to have additional safety equipment, which can be either rented or purchased for the delivery.
  5. It is necessary that we have a copy of the boats papers, VAT status and insurance certificate. We will need to confirm that your insurance will cover the required sea areas and they are aware of the Skipper's details and qualifications.
  6. If you are satisfied with everything, dates of the delivery will be set (weather-permitting) and we will require a deposit and payment of the estimated expenses.
  7. We usually provide our own crew as we have a large network of crew, ranging from qualified/experienced to keen sailors wanting to build miles. We will always ensure we have enough crew, and they are suitably skilled to assist us with your delivery.
  8. We welcome owners to join the boat for the delivery, and depending on availability, we also have an RYA cruising instructor amongst our Skippers to provide tuition along the way. However, it must be noted that time is usually of the essence, and the delivery will take precedence over tuition, unless otherwise specified prior to delivery.
  9. We will always use the most efficient and economical method of travel to your vessel. In the UK, this will usually be a rental car, and travelling further outside the UK we make use of low-cost airlines such as Easyjet.
  10. Our team will fully research the route, ensuring we meet all customs requirements along the way. We will assess availability of fuel, supplies and possible ports of refuge in the event of severe/adverse weather conditions. We will be assessing the weather conditions at least 2 weeks prior to delivery using a wide variety of well-known Meteorology sources.
  11. Upon arrival to the vessel, we undertake a detailed check, using a set checklist to ensure everything is given the deserved attention to ensure it is safe and in fully working order. Fuel and water tanks are filled and the boat is provisioned for the trip. When the Skipper is completely confident with the vessel and the crew are prepped, the delivery can then commence.
  12. We will always execute your delivery in the most efficient way, with our utmost consideration given to the safety of both vessel and crew. For sailing vessels, this may mean extended periods running under motor, depending on weather. However, we will sail whenever possible. If necessary, we may have to seek shelter or alter our route to avoid severe weather conditions. At all times we will command your vessel in such a way as to avoid undue strain, using the same integrity as we would with our own yachts.
  13. Throughout the delivery we will be in regular contact with our shore-team, who can relay these updates to you via phone/text or email. We our happy for you to contact our shore-team at any time, and we will provide you with the latest update from the vessel.
  14. Upon successful completion of the passage, the boat will be secured, thoroughly cleaned, inside and out, and another detailed check of the vessel will be made to ensure everything is left as found (or better!).
  15. You will then be provided with a full report of the delivery, covering all dates, times, locations, fuel purchased and engine hours, and any issues that had arisen with the vessel. We will also provide you with a detailed account of all expenses.
  16. Once you have received this, and you are satisfied with the delivery, the remaining balance is paid to us.
